Artist's Statement:

While browsing the landscape section of the Quilt Index, "Why I Like Michigan" by Ingeborg Mazza captured my attention. Besides being a lovely quilt, it reminded me of why I like a setting other than the Coast Plains of Teas where I have lived my entire life. With folds, hand applique, and machine quilting I created my own peaceful, calming place away from city life.
