I finished the quilt by taking at least one scrap of every fabric that she had. The fabrics bring back memories of clothes, toys, and doll clothes she made for us.

My mother, Mary Hill Gault pieced the hexagons and fans. The quilter was willing to rush this job so my mom could have it back sooner. My mother died of cancer 3 weeks later. She was grateful that the quilt had been completed.
