Essay:

Squares of designs depict different aspects of South Africa, including animals (elephants, cheetahs, lions, snakes) soccer, a bus, a person carrying water, vegetation, a clothesline, and a map of Africa; to the right of center are a row of raised objects, including a mask, necklace, wooden figurine, spoon, and running across the bottom is a row of beading; also, some squares have 3D objects, such as pins and buttons

Fabric artist Jo Crockett teaches quiltmaking and other sewing skills in Langa Township, Cape Town. She works with her students on economic development projects utilizing their skills in textile work. Ingubo Entle was created with her student Nomawethu Bebeza.
