Essay:

"I am a paramedic. I am happy to see that the medical service has become available to all in Taiwan because of National Health Insurance. But the system planning is not perfect enough; people do not know how to take good care of themselves. They are not getting healthier; instead, they waste many medical resources. I would like to remind people about how important it is to be in good health. I chose those medical implements to be my subject of art quilting, so as to tell people that the diversified creative sources can be found in our daily lives."

The block is adhered to a beveled cardboard mat creating a 2" wide, white border.

It is a small quilt decorated with medical supplies (a orange syringe, multicolored pills, a pink bottle labeled "voren", and a yellow mortar and green pestle). The background of the quilt is 1 1/2 inch blue squares. Buttons, leather, polyester fabric.
