Four black newspapers machine embroidered around the border (Chicago Defender, Negro World, New York New Amsterdam News) Quilt is the American flag. There are photographs machine appliqued inside the stars L-R;T-B- Medgar Evers, Stokely Carmichael, Assata Shakur, one of the four girls bombed in 2nd Baptist in Birmingham, Rosa Parks, Huey P. Newton, Malcolm X, man?, woman?, Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye, boy?, Bob Marley, Martin Luther King, Jr., girl? The red stripe in the flag is a print of holding up the black power fist at the 1968 olympics. The white stripe is a print of women in the Nation of Islam.
