Grid/crosshatch hanging diamonds fill in the background of the appliqued squares and red solid/plain borders. Every Friendship Ring has a hand quilted circle in the red solid/plain center. All of the patches are outline quilted.

Background constructed from red solid/plain half-square and quarter-square triangles. The novelty fabric print of Disney's Mickey and Minnie Mouse was used sparingly throughout the quilt top. Every Friendship Ring has a red solid/plain appliqued center circle.
