This info. was obtained from an article in the " Baton Rouge Morning Advocate", Oct. 12, 1964, and from a note left with the quilt by the last owner, Mrs. Mary Dickson Bridgeman: " This homespun quilt was made about 200 yrs ago by Dr. Hornsby's wife. She was 66 yrs old at the time. At one time the quilt was housed in the Old Arsenal Museum on the La. State Capitol grounds."
