According to the surveyed owner, the quiltmaker was born in New York and moved to Illinois (?) after her marriage. Her husband and children died tragically, and the quiltmaker moved to Chattanooga to live with her sister and brother-in-law. Dates of these moves are not noted. This quilt could have been made in any of the states listed in this narrative.(Surveyed owner is the great grand-niece of the quiltmaker.)
