One of the original 101 quilts donated by Eugenia Mitchell of Golden, CO, to start the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum. This quilt is machine pieced from solid, flowered, and geometric fabrics in blue, off-white, and rust with blue and rust sashing and blue, rust, and off-white borders. The batting is polyester. The binding is the backing folded to the front with mitered corners and attached by hand. The quilt is hand quilted in the ditch with cotton/pollyester thread. The stitches are even 5 stitches to the inch. The backing is machine pieced off-white cotton. Ownership/History: Made over the course of two weeks for the December 1980 quilt show at the Foothills Art Center, Golden, CO. LocMade: Golden/Jefferson//CO//United States
