One of the original 101 quilts donated by Eugenia Mitchell of Golden, CO, to start the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum. This quilt is hand pieced of solid and geometric fabrics in red, pink, and off-white. The batting is polyester. The binding is the bottom fabric folded to the top with mitered corners and is attached by hand. The quilt is hand quilted with white thread. The stitching is uneven 3 to 5 stitches per inch. The backing is hand pieced printed cotton with pink, red, green, and lavendar squares on a white background. Ownership/History: Made by Eugenia Mitchell for her grandson from fabric bought at Eaker's Dept. Store. It was the first quilt Eugenia ever made with new fabric purchased just for quilting.
