Describe anything about the history of the quilt that wasn't already recorded in a previous field:
One of the original 101 quilts donated by Eugenia Mitchell of Golden, CO, to start the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum. This quilt is machine pieced of solid and checkered fabrics in red and white, with red checkered sashing and red borders. The quilt is also embroidered with a map of each state and the state's bird and flower. The center medallion is an embroidered map of the USA with the words "GOD BLESS AMERICA LAND THAT I LOVE." The batting is polyester. The edges have red and red checkered Prairie Points. The quilt is hand quilted around the embroidery, and in the background in geometric patterns, using cotton/polyester thread. The stitching is even 8 stitches to the inch. The backing is machine pieced fabric. Ownership/History: Made by Olive Raben of Crawford, Nebraska. Eugenia Mitchell purchased it for $200 in 1982. LocMade: Crawford///NE//USA
