One of the original 101 quilts donated by Eugenia Mitchell of Golden, CO, to start the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum. This quilt is hand and machine pieced of solid red and green cotton fabrics with red and green borders. The batting is polyester. The binding is folded over from the top with mitered corners. The quilt is hand quilted around the pattern pieces and has floral, cable, clamshell, sunburst quilting designs in the plain blocks and the borders. The quilting is even at 6 stitches to the inch, done with white cotton/polyester thread. The backing is machine pieced white and green print cotton fabric. Ownership/History: The quilt blocks were purchased by Eugenia Mitchell at the Astor House Yard Sale in Golden, CO, in 1970. The blocks were pieced by Eugenia Mitchell. The quilt was quilted by Teresa and Mary Rose Shultz of Calhoun, KY. LocMade: unknown, Golden///CO//USA
