Blosser Daughter of Jacob Nuce & Lille Chipps Whose fore bearers were some of the first settlers of Morgantown Jacob Nuce & Elizabeth Catherine Beck Thomas Chipps & Johanna Roberts Grandmother was small but mighty. The mother of 9 - 7 surviving children. Being a young teen ager when she started her large family. At a time when oranges and candy at Christmas was a real treat. With no disposable diapers or electric washers, dryers or TV to entertain the children. She raised her family in hard times and a quilt made from feed sacks were a necessity not a decoration. In the late years she and her husband owned a local grocery and gas station on the Kingwood Pike near Morgantown WV. In addition to the store they had a large garden, cows to milk and butter to churn. When they retired from the store they sold their produce and flowers in the Morgantown Area. Many people enjoyed their country eggs, fresh butter, black raspberries, strawberries and flowers. She and Grandfather worked many hard hours but I never heard her complain, she must have enjoyed herself. Oh Yes! In her spare time she made many quilts which were sold and many are in the family.
