wide range of flower fabric from 19th - 20th century. Good example of bright scrap bag quilt. Noah Shriver 1872-1956 Hester Talkington Shriver 1875-1958 Blaine Shriver remembers some of the days and good times he had at his grand parents, Noah and Hester Shriver at Daybrook, WV. Most of the time before going to school and every summer until i went to high school (1928-1941) I spent with them. The birthplace and home of Noah Shriver was on this farm willed to him from his father Adam Shriver which was Heir Joseph Shriver. This farm was located on Shriver's Run (Topography Map), a branch to Day's Run. At the time Adam and Joseph were owners of this farm Daybrook, was named Pone Town. Noah farmed and drove a team of horses during the gas and oil findings in Monongalia, Marion, Harrison, and Wetzel Counties. At that time the equipment used to drill the wells was moved to and from the wells by horse and wagon. I remember Grandpa had big wagons (road wagons) with no beds on them. They could be adjusted for the length of the equipment they were to haul. My Dad said Grandpa always had the very large horses. I remember two he (Madge and Seel) that I thought was very big and strong. For more history see original folder.
