Quilt presented to me as retiring President of Sunbonnet Sue Quilters.
Describe anything about the history of the quilt that wasn't already recorded in a previous field:
I was president of The Sunbonnet Sue Quilt Guild in 1995 - 1996. At the end of my term in office I was given 50 quilt blocks made by 50 of our members. The blocks were 12 inches when I received them, After squaring to the smallest the finished blocks were 9 inches square. Having never pieced before one of our experienced members took me under her wing and helped me cut sashings and borders. I then put the blocks together and quilted the quilt. Some members who gave me a block have now passed away, some have moved away or left the guild. So this quilt is a treasury of memories of past and present friends.
