Appliqued onto a whole cloth background are 9 Mexican flowers alternating light and dark brown with a center flower and stems; surrounded by a double straight line quilted border; and a border of rose and leave motifs; then surrounded by a scallop appliqued valance with small circular center with small scallop on top. Quilting: straight line; diamond cross hatch; outline;

This quilt was given to the OAAS and winner received $600.00. It competed at the Neustadt Fair which was the first step to becoming a grand champion winner. This quilt was the fifth annual Grand Champion Winner in 1983 for the Canada Packer Quilt Competition held in conjunction with the OAAS (Ontario Association of Agricultural Societies). The competition started in 1979 and completed in 1997. It is #5 of 19 quilts.
