A request for a quilting pattern.

My Dear Mrs. Gasperik
I know you will be surprised to hear from me, but I just couldn’t put off writing to you any longer. I don’t know if you remember me but me, my husband Steve, and my mother Mrs. Louis Barna took a ride to your home last summer. We were all so interested in your quilts. Do you remember now? You also asked us about Helen Barna. Mrs. Rose Barna’s daughter. We still plan to visit her and perhaps get her to come with me to see you folks again. Sunday is the only day we have her to do any visiting and we are so far behind in seeing our friends that I don’t know when we’ll ever catch up.

A visit to see you again is a must and we will see you when the weather lets up a bit.

Have you planned to have a quilt show yet? If so I am certainly interested in seeing it. If so I sure would like all the details as to time, place + admission, etc.

We had wonderful holidays and I hope you folks are well and enjoyed them as much as we did. Santa was very good to us.

I am really writing to you because I want you to do me a big favor. If I am not mistaken, you promised me the pattern for a quilting background. The ones I would really like to have are for the harp and the heart. I think they are on the quilt you had intended to donate to the museum. I’d be tickled pink if you would send me a sketch of the harp + heart pattern. It would be a wonderful remembrance from you because I would like to use it on a quilt I’m making now. I am enclosing a stamped, self-addressed envelope for you to use. If there is a charge please feel free to let me know and I will gladly send it to you. I thought now is a good time for you to send it to me during the long winter days. Soon spring will be here and we’ll be puttering around outside with flowers, etc. and we won’t care to stay in the house too long. I believe it was your daughter in law, or daughter, who said you had a beautiful quilt, a falling petals design of daisies. She said it was her favorite and it’s always stuck in my mind. I didn’t get to see that one yet but hope that when we visit you again you might show that one to us, too!

I am looking forward to hearing from you and I hope you don’t think that I was too nervy in asking you to send me the harp and heart pattern. I wouldn’t have asked for it but you said you would give it to me – so here’s hoping I hear from you soon.

We will phone in case we decide to visit you. Many thanks for your time and patience in reading my letter.
