Artist's Statement:

Drawn to contemporary design, I explored ways to use a nine patch concept in a circular setting, inspired by round nine patch blocks of Ethel Verena Naegle. There are multiple layers of nine patches in the quilt; the background blocks, the nine circles, and the nine patches within each circle, either pieced or stitched, and those within the pieced circles.
