Artist's Statement:
When I saw Mary McKenzie Caldwell's log cabin quilt the unusual setting really caught my eye. It made me think of the possibility of setting log cabin blocks in a star formation. Each of the logs finished at ¼" I did not want to have dark triangles in the corners so I pieced four dark/light neutral blocks. The blocks were paper-pieced. The quilt was quilted with a walking foot. I used monofilament and Aurifil thread.
