Essay:
"I was inspired by a quilt in the book The Art Quilt, I purchased in January 2014, that required using a 60 degree triangle ruler to lay out the design. I chose the colors, asssembled the layout, and wasn't quite satisfied. The individual triangles sat until December 2014. Letters exchanged with an older sibling in the fall of 2014 regarding his anger issues with our mother and his assertion that he was abused as a child caused both of us a lot of anxiety. Through the letters, we bared our souls of long held feelings about our childhood. I relived many painful moments and episodes of my life as I rearranged the triangles to complete this quilt. I must say the prior therapy sessions, i.e. the prior 100+ quilts, enabled me to remain peaceful, nonjudgemental, thankful and forgiving about myself, my mom and my brother."
