Star Quilt, My Mothers Little Star, 342 pieced blocks, 17 pieces each block, 2394, 342, 5814 pieces, 306 white squares, 350 half white squares, 6500 pieces in quilt, This quilt is several years older than I am - some of the pieces date back to 1838 or longer when Ma began to piece the blocks - finished and quilted after she was married. Married Aug. 12, 1847. This quilt was pieced by Mrs. John Garlock (Rebecca), mother of Mrs. Elizabeth Rice and Grandmother of Don Garlock. Mrs. Elizabeth Rice wrote the above notes and dates of her mothers quilt. The late Mrs. John Galock of Watertown.
