W. Edwards) Elizabeth Mason Long In memory of Wilhoit Shepherd Long, son and brother The quilt belonged to our grandmother, Sarah Zerelda Wilhoit Long, from Versailles, Ky. There is a date and the initials S>Z>W (faded ink) in one corner of quilt - We think these quilts were made as birth gifts for several members of our grandmother's family - Catherine Schaval P.S. We received an acknowledement from the Galleries after we gave the quilt. There should be some record there. C.S. Quilt The quilt was made by a woman in Woodford County, Kentucky (Versailles). It cost Mahalia Dale Wilhoit $80.00 and was a gift to her daughter, Sarah Z. Wilhoit, at birth, March 1852. It is called "George Washington's Cherry Tree". Given by Wilhoit S.
