Story about this quilt:

From Francine Osinoff:
"This is my version of the myth of Medusa, once a beautiful woman who so angered the goddess Athena that she was turned to stone. I have depicted Medus as a reflection on the shield Athena lent to our hero, Perseus, so that he might slay the monster without actually looking at her face. An evil king had sent him to bring back her head hoping that he would die in the attempt. Of course Perseus succeeded. I enjoyed trying Model Magic, metallic fabric paint, Shiva paint stiks, and rubbing plates to complete this."
