Inherited from mother; Paula Davenport, owner's great niece will be the 6th generation owner. All generations lived entire lives within 10 miles of place quilt was made.

The maker was 30 years old when the quilt was made.

The maker has made four other quilts (in good condition). Two are with this owner and two are with this owner's sister. There is a picture of the quiltmaker. The quiltmaker left a letter from huband in Confederate Army, 1862 (A photocopy and handwritten transcription of the letter is included with the form).

Most fabric appears to be from clothing. Pieced on gingham used for bonnets and aprons worn in that period. Flannel lining.
