Claire Vlasin's Quilt Exhibits

Claire loved to show her quilts. Quilts that she made were often featured in shows produced by the Capitol City Quilt Guild of which she was a member.

She also did small exhibits at those shows of some of her antique quilts.

The quilts in this gallery feature the quilts she displayed at a special exhibit during the Quilts at the Crossroads celebration in and around Flint, Michigan from September 24-26, 1999.

This is the catalog description of the display:

Antique Quilts From the Collection of Claire Vlasin at Crossroads Village
Claire Vlasin, a quilter herself for more than 25 years, has been collecting antique quilts for the last 15 years. She is attempting to preserve her wonderful collection for future generations by cleaning and repairing the quilts and storing them in a new room in her home built especially for this purpose. She is a member of the Capitol City Quilt Guild, American Quilt Study Group and Quilt Restoration Society. Her collection is divided into 4 eras: Pioneer, Civil War, Victorian, and Depression.

Quilt often gave presentations where she spoke on quilt history and showed her collection. She gave presentations to church groups, elementary school classes, and quilt groups.
