04-099; Minnie Hagemeister and kitten

1910-1919
Janet E. Finley Collection of Quilt History Photographs
Real Photo Postcard (RPPC), dated 1917
Photographer: Unknown
Size: 3.5" x 5.5"

Minnie Hagemeister, sitting on her Richmond, Michigan, front porch, proudly holds up her black kitten in the palm of her left hand - quite a trick with a pet kitty. Her right hand holds a hand dusting mop, and the porch chair holds a Crazy quilt pillow trimmed in ruffled fabric or lace. This postcard has a cancelled date stamp: "4 PM December 20, 1917." It cost Minnie two cents to post her message. Minnie wrote her greeting in pencil and addressed the postcard to Miss Leyen, Mt. Clemens, Michigan, Route No. 1
