Carol Elmore lives in Manhattan, Kansas, and serves as president of the Konza Prairie Quilt Guild and on the board of the Kansas Quilters' Organization. She is an appraiser certified by the Ameri­can Quilter's Society and the Professional Association of Apprais­ers of Quilted Textiles. Carol holds both M.L.S. and JD. degrees and is a Riley County law librarian and a reference librarian at Kan­sas State University.

Ronnie Elmore earned his M.S. degree at the University of Missouri and his D.V.M. degree at the University of Illinois. He is the asso­ciate dean at the College of Veterinary Medicine, Kansas State University, Manhattan, Kansas. His career in veterinary medicine led to an avocational interest in pets belonging to presidents. He and his wife also share an enthusiasm for quilts related to presi­dents.
