Judy Eisley was born and raised in England, but now lives in Utah where she is an associate professor of English at Weber State University. Her revised Ph.D. dissertation, Quilts as Text(iles), Peter Land Press, and her book of essays, Getting Comfortable, Jumping Challa Press, were both published in 1997. She also co-edited Quilt Culture: Tracing the Patterns issued by the University of Missouri Press in 1994. This is her third paper in Uncoverings.
