Self­ employed as a researcher and consultant, Laurel presents grants work­shops to nonprofit groups and educators for the Polaris Corporation. She has served AQSG as both president and editor of Uncoverings. A frequent author and lecturer, her research focuses on regional varia­tions in quiltmaking traditions.
