Aimee E. Newell is Curator of Collections at the National Heritage Museum in Lexington, Massachusetts. She is the former Curator of Textiles and Fine Arts at Old Sturbridge Village, as well as the former Curator of Collections at the Nantucket Historical Association. She received a BA in American Studies from Amherst College and an MA in History from Northeastern University. She is currently pursuing a PhD in History at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She is a contributing author to the forth­coming Massachusetts Quilt Documentation Project book, Massachusetts Quilts: Our Commonwealth; and she has written for Piecework Magazine, Sampler and Antique Needlework Quarterly, Blanket Statements, and the Proceedings of the Dublin Seminar for New England Folklife. She is an Associate Fellow at the International Quilt Study Center in Lincoln, Nebraska.
