You may not believe that the month in which you are born and the stars which rule the heavens at that time have anything to do with you and your character. There are plenty of sane and sensible people who know that one carves out one's destiny. There are plenty of people who believe that faith and good works make us what we are.

But on the other hand there are people who say, "You know those ancient people who spent hour after hour looking up into the stars all through the night have something to be said for their ideas." Take the month of July 24 to Aug. 23. It was during that month that Napoleon was born. There you have a man who has many lionlike qualities. Napoleon was bold and fearless and he was imperious.

Reason for Lion.
As to how the ancients ever picked out of the lion - well, as they studied the heavens they noticed that the arrangement or constellation of stars which seemed to be riding high and foremost in late July and in August might by a stretch of imagination be said to look like a lion. And they studied people who were born during that time. As they grew up they seemed to have some lionlike qualities. So they were sure they were right. I suppose they forgot to think about all the weak, timid souls who were born under that sign also. They concentrated only on the outstanding ones. But don't we all do that sort of thing?

More than that, to help along the simile or comparison, the ancients saw that the stars were ruled by a planet and that planet was no other than the sun. There you have another regal or kingly symbol. So there was nothing to do but give these qualities to the Leo people.

May Be Magnetic.
A person born sometime between July 24 and Aug. 23 is supposed to be magnetic or popular sincere. That's easy, for there is nothing shifty about the sun light. It is straight and forward, blistering where it touches if it be too strong.

The person born under this sign is supposed to be a good executive as well as a leader. His magnetism helps him in leadership.

This person is quite apt to be religious or exceedingly righteous. That means he is somewhat hard to live with since he is always right and always ready to defend his point, even going to law over it. But on the other hand he is chivalrous and kindly - sometimes so much so that he is gullible and easily imposed upon. But is he furious when he finds that out, oh my!

Birth Stone.
The sardonyx is the birth stone, the favorite color is orange and the flower which is high in favor is the poppy.

No directions are needed for the pattern on this leaflet, for it is done in the same manner as the characteristics on the other four zodiac blocks.
