Old-Time Nosegay - Leaflet No. 6

By Edith B. Crumb.

The flower in the lower center of this bouquet is called a mallow and should be developed in soft small figured yellow print. The five petals are alike in shape so one pattern will do for all of them.

The three-cornered flowers are trilliums. They may be made from soft, plain, lavender. Numbers 4, 11 and 3 are cut from very fine pink and white checked material.

The flower at the top, as you know, is a morning glory. Use pale pink figured print for the narrow strips, 15, 16 and 18; light striped blue and white for 14 and 17. Note that 18 is given only half its width and the same is true of 14 at the extreme top.

Numbers 8, 9 and 10 are forget-me-nots. Two are blue and one is pink. One forget-me-knot is slightly darker blue than the other.

Numbers 5, 6 and 7 are leaves in the two shades of green and number 22 is cut from soft henna plain gingham.

The centers of the forget-me-nots are worked in soft yellow embroidery cotton. The center of trilliums is a small lavender check. The leaves are appliqued. The bowknot is cut from material with blue as the predominating color.

Leaflet No. 1 gives full direction for the transferring, cutting and applying of the designs and may be used for all 12 bouquets which are to form the central portion of this quilt.
