Old-Time Nosegay - Leaflet No. 25

By Edith B. Crumb.

As a rest from the hard work you have to do on some of the intricate flower patterns here is a star flower. If I were you I would use a blue small figured print. It needs a small center embroidered in satin stitch in deep yellow.

This flower is the eleventh one down the sides and it appears again in the bottom. It is the fifth flower from the corner as it nears the center of the bottom border band. That means that four of these flowers must be made, one for each side border strip and a pair of them for the bottom.

There is nothing to worry about in making "rights and lefts" of this flower for it is the same no matter how you look at it. Doesn't it make you think of one of those old-time sugar cookies with a nice raisin in the center?
