A pattern leaflet for the Fox and Geese quilt.
Reprint From
The Detroit News
Quilt Selected by Mrs. Franklin D. Roosevelt.
By Edith B. Crumb.
When The Detroit News sent the designs of 10 different quilts to Mrs. Roosevelt and asked her to be kind enough to select that which she considered the most attractive, this is the one she decided upon. It is called "Fox and Geese" and is a very old pattern.
The sketch marked No. 1 shows the layout of the completed quilt.
Each block is eight inches square, and for each you will require two patches of figured material like No. 2; four of white like No. 4; six of figured like No. 3, and 10 of white like No. 3.
The plain block should be cut eight inches square.
Approximately four yards of white material and two of figured should be sufficient to make this quilt. The figured fabric may be the same throughout the quilt or each block may have a different design and color.
A six-inch border of white is applied to the sides and bottom and a three-inch white border at the top.
