Walnut, Copper, Glass Make Up This Smart Table

By Edith B. Crumb

The host or hostess who encourages friends to drop in for a little chat, bite, and sip, would appreciate a table such as this. Or the home-maker who likes to have a practical table for books, magazines, smoking accessories, etc. would find this piece a welcome addition to her living room or sunroom.

It is a very simple affair but in its simplicity is its attractiveness. The wooden part, of which there is little more than two discs, two supports and a small arc-shaped piece to hold the glass upper shelf is of walnut, the third support being copper tubing.

Here is a table that could be easily moved about to the spot where it would prove of the most service and it might be used between two easy chairs, for the top is the right height for a reading lamp. And think of the use to which the shelves could be put at a moment's notice. Enter the guests out comes the table and there is a beaten path between the table and the ice box until it is filled with such things as keep a party gay and happy.

And could you possibly think of a lamp which would be more in keeping with the table than the one shown. It is made of copper discs and a drum shaped pieces of walnut, the shade being washable. It may also be had in chromium and walnut but if it is to be used with this table, of course, the copper would be the better choice.

Perhaps you have two modern tables which you are grouping with a studio couch or sofa and have been puzzled as to just what kind of lamps to place on them. Well, here is the solution to your problem. The price of the lamp and shade complete is but $7.95 which, you'll just have to admit, is just about rock bottom for such a smart combination.

The size of the table is practical as you will realize when I tell you that it is 27" high and the shelves are 26" in diameter, while the price is $15.25

Send in Names
Dear Miss Crumb and Beatrice. In attending the quilt show I picked up a few names to send in for membership. I was certainly surprised at the crowd and the beautiful quilts. I am a farmer and am almost through with the outside work. Then soon I will get back to my quilts. I got some new ideas at the show. I have some patches cut and all ready for another Dresden Plate and am also going to make a Double Wedding Ring and others. Good luck to all Quilt Club Corner members.

I notice that you sent in the names of five new members, Mrs. Ameloot, and I think it was very generous of you to take so much trouble. I am happy to know that you enjoyed the show so much and that you are planning to make so many new quilts. No doubt you are looking forward to the cold and snowy days when you can't get our for then you can have such a good time piecing and quilting.

Star Motif Quilt is Explained on Leaflet
Not one star, but a whole constellation of stars, makes up a block in the pattern Seven Stars. The quilt adapts itself easily to old fashion prints or to a modern red, white, and blue treatment.
