Mother Goose Quilt Series-Pattern No. 6
Old King Cole

You may work this out in an etching stitch in red, blue, green or any plain color; or you may make the whole block in applique. Let's have a purple suit on the king, with brown shoes, a white collar (etched in purple only), a gold crown and black hair.

The face, hands and sceptre may be etched, although it would be handsome to have the sceptre in plain gold embroidery.

Old King Cole looks to be just as merry as we have heard he was for so many years and he looks as though he is just about ready to call for his pipe, his bowl and his fiddlers three.

See general direction leaflet, giving yardages and measurements of blocks, joining strips and borders of quilt.
