Members Gather Weekly
By Edith R. Crumb

Mrs. Florence McGinnies, 3544 Gladwin avenue, brought a suit-case to the Quilt Club Corner meeting yesterday, and it was filled to the point of bursting with new quilts.

She is shown with two of them in the accompanying picture. The one on the left is made from the Rob Peter to Pay Paul pattern, and the one at the right is the Nine-Patch.

This latter was made by the members of the Star Quilt Club, the Bradley Recreation Center, Concord and Mack avenues. The quilters meet at 10 a. m. and stay until 3 p. m. They bring their own lunch.

Everyone has a chance to put her quilt on the frames and right now there are two under way. Most of the members are also members of the Detroit News Quilt Club. They are: Mrs. Maude Marx, Mrs. Eleanor Reinhold, Mrs. Marian Ridler, Mrs. Nellie Welke, Mrs. Hildred Hjerpe, Mrs. Eva Schaub, Mrs. Mary Jones, Mrs. Anne Tresnan, Mrs. Nellie Brichta, Mrs. Alice Yeardley, Mrs. Elise Kansler and Mrs. Lea Fletcher.

This week's meeting was a celebration for Mrs. Nellie Brichta, who brought two cakes for her birthday party.

Three new members joined the Quilt Club yesterday - Mrs. Helen Perkins, 3694 Porter street; Mrs. Anne Tresnan, 2994 Sheridan avenue, and Mrs. Maude Arnold, 8042 John R street. All seemed to get acquainted with the other members and we hope that they will come to the meeting every week.

Mrs. Bertha Weiss, 9991 Strathmoor came to the meeting after a long absence because of illness. It seemed like old times to have her with us again

Mrs. Minnie Russell was also with us again yesterday.
