Bag is Designed by Cornerite
Here is Beatrice Kuenzel Mishler examining the lovely bag which Mrs. Goldie McClelland designed and made. It is lemon yellow and medium blue, the front being made in the same manner as a hooked rug on cross stitch canvas and the back is of blue and yellow hand woven squares. Notice the clever way she has hooked the name "The Detroit News Quilt Club" into the bag.

It is a long time since we have had a picture of Beatrice Kuenzel Mishler in the Corner and I know that all of you are happy to see her today. She is so busy that she only has time to look in on us during our weekly meetings, but last Friday she was not too busy to have her pictures taken with that attractive quilt bag made by Goldie McClelland.

The minute Beatrice saw that bag I knew she would be so disappointed if she wouldn't have her picture taken with it and Goldie was certainly nice about letting her take it.

Every once in a while Goldie has said "you just wait until you see what I am making" and we had to wait and wait. Last Saturday in she came with this lovely bag on her arm. For the front she took a piece of cross stitch canvas and her son in law (Ruby's Husband) Frank Elliot, stenciled Detroit News Quilt Club on it Then Goldie pulled yarn through I with a hook, using the same method one would for a hooked rug. The letters are yellow and the background is medium blue.

The back go the bag is of blue and yellow handwoven squares and the handles are wood, the lining being Stateen.
Here is a bag that is practical for it will hold patches and blocks enough for a while quilt and Goldie certainly had it filled when she appeared last Friday. She has a bag that is like no other, but I am sure it is so attractive many of you will want to make one also.

Mrs. Alice J Waldron whose winter address is 420 3rd avenue, north, St. Petersburg Fla has sent us a card to us showing the singing tower at Mountain Lake Sanctuary and she wishes us all good health, good friends, and happy days. It was so thoughtful of Mrs. Waldron to send us that card and let us know she still remembered us. We hope that she will come to the Friday meetings when she returns.

Mrs. P.A. hoover is Wakeman, O is also visiting in Florida and she sent us a postal card of the Clock Tower on the Boardwalk at Daytona Beach, Fla. Towers certainly must attract quilters.

Mrs. G inch 3761 Walnut, Route No 1 Rochester has written and sent in the name of Ruth Mary, her 14-year-old daughter, for membership in the Quilt Club. Ruth Mary has been ill for nearly two years and had pieced a Sunbonnet Girl quilt top.

Now she would like to make another but Mrs. Inch does not know what pattern to select for her. It must be a simple one. If any of our Quilt Club members has any odd pieces for patching quilts, Mrs. Inch would like a few for Ruth Mary and she will be glad to send a few in return.

Here is an opportunity for you to make a little girl happier by writing her a note and slipping in a few gay scraps of material.
