Tomorrow is Last Day for Quilt Show Entries
By Edith B. Crumb

Just one more day- and one only in which to make your entries for The Detroit News quilt show.

In you have not entered anything for the exhibit, and still wish to do so, you have until 5 p.m. Wednesday to take your entries to headquarters at 827 Lafayette boulevard west. After that nothing will be accepted.

Thursday is the big day for getting the show in order so that the doors may open at 2 p.m. Friday. Will you be waiting on the steps of the United States Naval Armory so as to be one of the first to see the exhibit?

It's going to be gorgeous more interesting than ever and very colorful. The workmanship is outstanding and quilts patterns range from brand new ones to others that are 125 to 150 years old.

You will be interested in the rugs, braided and hooked, large and small.

Remember- the first day the doors will be open at 2 p.m. and the other two days at 10 a.m. The closing time for all three days is 10p.m.

Wheel chairs will be available for those who are not able to walk around the show, and there will be rows of chairs for those who wish to sit and chat with their friends. The good old friendly Quilt Club Corner will be there for you to gather in and exchange your patches, patterns and (am I right?) recipes.

Here is another important announcement. To get quilts back after the show call at the Armory Tuesday, May 28, or at 827 Lafayette boulevard west (where you entered them) on Wednesday, May 29.

Nothing can be given out at the Armory on Monday, May 27. The doors will not even be open, so please do not ask for quilts on that day.
