Cornerites Make Plans for Party
By Edith B. Crumb

The first news for members is that next Friday, December 12 is the date set for the annual Quilt Club Corner Christmas party and grab bag.

It has usually been held the Friday before Christmas, but many feel that an earlier date would be better for all this year, so come to the party and bring a package for the grab bag.

Your gift must not cost more than 10c. and if you have material about the house which you can fashion some little thing, so much the better. Often these turn out to be more attractive than what you would be able to buy.

Next I want to tell you that Mrs. Maude S Raymond played hookey yesterday afternoon. Reports were that she and gone visiting and not out of town, either. That is the first time that she has been absent except on the account of illness or when she was away on vacation.

Mrs. Minnie Grey, 1256 Longview, had a birthday yesterday but was unable to attend our meeting so she sent a big box of candy by Mrs. Elise Kansier.

Mrs. Gertrude Clark, 209 Tennyson avenue, Highland Park came yesterday after a long abscense. Now she is not very busy with outside activities and hopes to be with us more often. She has collected over 25 quilts from different states.

Mrs. Mary Wech 8380 Lane Avenue, joined the Quilt Club yesterday. She was busy sewing on a quilt in blue and white from the Drunkards Path pattern.

Why not drop a cheery note to Mrs. Catherine Blair 2649 Sixteenth street? Several have been to call on her and report that she is getting along very nicely but is happy to see and hear from her friends.

Mrs. Margaret Mowatt has returned home from the hospital. Her address is 601 Elizabeth Street, Dearborn. We wish that all of our invalid members could be with us next week.

So far no program has been planned but I am sure that this week the phone will be busy carrying messages from Mrs. Henry C Reinhold to Mrs. Cora Dempsey (who always writes such clever verses for our special days) Mrs. Sylvia Carlen, Mrs. Marian Ridler and the whole Henpeck Holler crowd, Mrs. Anna Cote is so generous about playing accompaniments that I am sure we will have some music.
