A portion of a Beauty in the Home column describing a home featured in Good Furniture magazine and announcing the silhouette of a lady doing needlework leaflet.
That living room which is truly homelike contains not only the necessary pieces of furniture, but such accessories as give a suggestion of the characteristics of the people living in the house.

A study of the accompanying illustration from the Good Furniture magazine would lead one to believe that a lover of books and writing might live there- and one whose aim s to have a sunny cheerful room.

Light has been the first consideration in planning this room. The woodwork and walls are both finished alike in a deep shade of ivory for this background always furnishes an excellent lightning effect and the floors are of hardwood with a medium brown finish.

Very sheer voile in a light ecru shade had been used for the glass curtains, as this does not interfere with the sun light and the over draperies are of plain blue green chintz with a semi glazed surface. Theses have been lined with ecru Stateen, made long enough to reach to the floor, trimmed with a narrow frill of the chintz and put up with an interesting valance. For this two rods have been used, with a heading of chintz beyond each rod. This valance which my be made for any informal room and is especially attractive of taffeta for bedrooms or dressing rooms.

The floor covering is of small sizes Oriental rugs and the covering for the chair is of yellow ground flowered chintz, piped with blue green part of the walls a cream shade and the woodwork cupboard and ice box a pale green. Please advise what color linoleum.
