Silhouettes Ready for Framing

This much collared gentleman and much bonneted lady are waiting to be framed and place in a position in your home which needs a touch that is different.

Cut out very carefully around these, paste on a piece of white cardboard (with a rather rough finish) and frame. The cardboard should be the size of the glass. A frame about four inches wide by five inches high would be the best size for these. If you are able to get an oval frame, you will find the pictures unusally attractive in these. The five and ten cent stores show many frames which will be all right for this purpose. Black enamel or brushing laquer may be used to finish these frames, as they are usually made in brown or gilt. Ten or 15 centers a piece is all that these pictures will cost you and have the appearance of something more expensive.

A cream paper lamp shade, candle shade or shield may be decorated with one of these silhouettes. The shade may be painted rose or yellow inside to lend a warm glow when the light is on. The top and bottom of the shade should be trimmed with a black binding of passe partout.
