A portion of a Beauty in the Home column describing a quilting technique used to decorate silk pillows and lingerie.
Smart Silk Pillows and New Book Ends
A new kind of quilting that will interest you is done without the wool sheeting; the effect being brought about by the use of yarn drawn through on the wrong side- but that cannot be explained here for there is a leaflet which will tell you all about it.
With the knowledge on this fascinating and very simple quilting you may make satin boudoir pillows, lingerie, and handkerchief cases.

Taffeta is the material used for these lovely things and only a few hours of careful sewing are required to make any of the articles mentioned. The best part of it is that they are not a bit expensive.

Something else that will appeal to the home maker is a pair of folding book ends, covered with velvet, damask, taffeta, or brounde. These are easily made and the covering is a very simple matter.

All of the articles are illustrated. Just how much material is illustrated. Just how much material is required for each has been figured out, and every stop in the making carefully described.

No one should be without this leaflet if she is interested in keeping her house attractive in every detail. To receive this leaflet all that is necessary is to send your request for it to the Beauty in the Home Department enclosing with it a self-addressed, stamped envelope.
