An article about bedspreads.
Materials to Choose for Modern Bedspread
These notes on making bedspreads will be sufficient in all probability, to start the ambitious needle woman on the track of many charming ideas of her own. They do not go into detail of cutting and so on, but are most ideal in the matter of materials.
Embroidered Celanese taffetas have many possibilities for making up into tailored spreads with piped seams and bound edges of self-material. Some have embroidered scallop borders, and these, of course, make up the most charming spreads with the least effort.

White moir' used for spreads is rather a luxury idea, but a delightful one if you don't mind how your cleaner's bills mount; and if you like the increasingly important vogue for white accents.
Toiles de Joy ( and their prices are little now) make sprightly spreads that may be finished with plain glazed material in banding or pleated ruffles.

Ball fringe, used effectively for curtain finishing in maple furnished rooms may be used just as effectively for finishing a bedspread of plain glazed chintz, the balls being put om the form borders.

Quilted cotton materials with tiny floral patterns combine attractively with plain Stateen's, the form being used for the top of the bed and the latter for side flounces. Satin spread for more luxurious boudoirs may be finished with bands of embroidery applied to form borders on bed top and pillow sham. Or lace may be used for trimming, where the scheme is ultra-feminine.
