A Center Hall Plan: Well Balanced Rooms
This house should solve the problem for those seeking a three-bedroom home with all modern conveniences.
Business thought, business conceptions, business ethics and business methods have all marched forward tremendously during the past decade or two. The building industry is a part and an important par, of the general business fabric, its thoughts, its conceptions, its ethics and its methods must keep abreast with the general progress.

It is the influence of this period of progress which has brought to new thoughts and created what today is termed modernism which is in the broadest sense of the word is but another way of saying that we are doing things different than our ancestor.
There has been a certain among of modernism or radicalism exhibited by every progressive generation since the beginning of mankind.

The attractive little house shown today with its lines broken by interesting gables, pleasing groups of windows and inviting doorway should solve the problem for many people who are searching for a small compact, convenient and delightfully laid out home.

The interior is equally as fascinating with a living room, dining room and sun room all connected with large archways giving the first floor a more spacious appearance. This is quality usually appreciated in the small house where there is naturally a feeling of crowding.

The second floor is also well laid out with bedrooms so planned as to accommodate with case a sufficient number of pieces of furniture to make them livable and charming pleasing to both the family and guests.

This house seems to suggest a decorative scheme in light tones and the following are suggestions for the various rooms:

Living Room: Woodwork, to be finished in very pale gray; walls to be treated with two tone small indicts conventional pattern paper, floor covering, plain soft green, window treatment draw curtains of green ground chintz with semi conventional design in yellow, apricot, lavender and dark green, furniture, sofa, covered in gray denim with slip covering of the drapery material, pair of wing chairs, covering in striped frieze, the colorings repeating those in the drapery chintz, armchair with seat and back covered in a gray shade of red orange ground wool fabric, table desk, single chair for same, pair of end tables, circular table approximately 30 inches in diameter light orange water bottle lamp with shade of the same color pleated chintz trimmed top and bottom with light green, pair of small pewter lamps for end tables to be used with sofa, these to have shades of Chinese gold tea paper with red orange lining; over mantel decorations to be a mirror in a simple light walnut frame ach end of mantel to have a light red orange pottery jar or vase, electric fixtures to be equipped with shades of gray chiffon over pale red orange and trimmed with silk gray silk braid.

Sun Porch: Walls and woodwork to be finished in a pale shade of green, floor covering black and cream checked linoleum window treatment, draw curtains of pale red orange voile or theatrical gauze, furniture to be wicker, finished in black, the cushions being equipped with striped fabric in light green, red orange and black. The furniture may consist of long, narrow table, two place sofa, two armchairs, single chair, and bridge lamp with parchment paper shade tinted to match the curtains.
Dining Room: Woodwork, like that in the living room, walls, also the same, window treatment, draw curtains of plain green voile, floor covering like that in the living room, furniture maple and to consist of pair of corner cupboards, draw top table, ladder-back chairs and butterfly table for serving table, electric fixtures to be equipped with shades like those in the living room.

Kitchen: Woodwork, light gray walls, apricot; floor covering green and cream checked linoleum, furniture green trimmed with black, curtains, apricot organdie trimmed with green.

Front bedroom: Left. Woodwork, ivory, walls, treated with a pale blue and silver satin and moir' striped paper, glass curtains,cream French marquisette, over draperies, soft blue ground chintz with floral design in rose, yellow, lavender, and green, floor covering fawn Wilton's; furniture, mahogany and to consist of four poster bed, chest of drawers with over mirror, desk with single Windsor chair, small table, Windsor armchair, bedspread, cream linen with flounces and bands of the blue ground drapery material; dresser cover, the same cream linen finished with cream linen lace edging; electric fixtures to be equipped with shades of pale rose tinted paper.

Front Bedroom: right. Woodwork cream, walls papered in pale yellow ground paper with small bouquet design in blue, lavender, rose and green, glass curtains, like those in the other bedroom; over draperies, plain yellow voile, floor covering, oval braided rag mats in yellow, rose, green, and black, furniture maple and to consist of good bed, high boy, small table, ladder back armchair. Bedspread yellow and white pieced quilt, dresser covers, plain yellow linen, electric fixtures to be equipped with shades of yellow tinted paper.

Rear Bedroom: Woodwork, gray walls, treated with a gray ground paper with floral striped paper, lavender predominating, glass curtains like those in the other bedrooms, over draperies, lavender organdie trimmed with ruffles of the same; furniture to be finished in gray and consist of single bed, chest of drawers with loose over mirror, small table and upholstered chair with slip covering of cream ground warp print with floral design in lavender, rose, yellow, and green, piped with lavender and cream cross bar novelty material, cover for chest of drawers to be made of lavender linen, electric fixtures to be equipped with shades of lavender georgette over pale rose silk and trimmed with silk braid to match the georgette.

Bath room: Woodwork, cream, walls pale apricot; curtains to be made of apricot oiled silk and trimmed with ruffles of the same.
