Peek-A-Boo Quilt Pattern

Each large block for this quilt is shown in sketch No. 1 is 12 inches square and is made up of five squares like No. 2 and four like No. 3.

To make the five squares like No. 2 you will require 20 triangles like No. 6 cut from colored material and five squares like No. 4, cut from white material.

To make the four squares like No. 3 you will require eight bars like No. 5 cut from white material and four the same size cut from colored material.

The straight lines around the designs show the size of the finished piece and the dotted lines are the cutting size so as to allow for a small seam.

You may have two choices of styles in making up the quilt. It may be entirely made of 12-inch blocks and blocks like No. 1 pieced together alternately in checker board effect. If this is the selected style, of course, the white blocks should be quilted in conventional design.

As to the size of the quilt-this is entirely up to the person making it for it depends entirely upon how large she wishes it-whether it is to fall far over the sides or just reach over the side of the bed, the sides being taken care of with a ruffled flounce of chintz or gingham.

The top should be pieced together the full size, finished all around the edge with a two-inch band of the colored material and one of the white material, lined with the white material, a layer of cotton batting being placed between the two thicknesses and then all quilted together, a binding of the colored material being the finish for the entire edge.

The white material for this quilt may be bleached muslin or cotton sheeting and the colored material may be gingham, percale or one of the new reproductions of the old-time calico which you will find to be very charming.
