Martha Washington Patch Work Quilt Book, Book No. 12

1930-1939
Waldvogel Ephemera Collection; Waldvogel Archival Collection
St. Louis, Missouri, United States
This catalog of more than 25 quilt patterns designed by Ann Conway of St. Louis cost 25 cents. It was published circa 1930. The editor of the catalog Sophie LaCroix may be a real person. The St. Louis Fancy Work Co. also sold patterns for crochet, tatting, and hardanger projects (see the last page). This (undated) book is primarily devoted to quilts. From the introduction: "We have prepared a series of pattern package outfits, numbered to correspond with the numbers of the designs illustrated in this book. Each package contains a complete working model, showing all the colors to be used in the design, together with patterns [templates] and clear simple instructions." The catalog pages were numbered by pattern collector Mildred Dickerson.
