Rock River Cotton Co. Patterns - Snowball Quilt Pattern

1930-1939
Waldvogel Ephemera Collection; Waldvogel Archival Collection
Janesville, Wisconsin, United States
Rock River Cotton Co. (Janesville, WI) manufactured cotton quilt batting with a length of tissue paper quilt patterns rolled inside. The patterns are credited to Mary A. McElwain whose quilt shop in Walworth, WI was close by. Each pattern cost 35 cents in McElwain's shop, but they were free when one bought a roll of batting. This pattern was published around 1934. In the 1940s, Lockport Batting Co. in Lockport, NY acquired the pattern line.
