"My mother was a quilt maker, and in watching my mother make quilts I decided I was going to make them. I was about 12 years of age when I first saw a 'Star' quilt. At first I made plain quilts, and when I saw that they were making 'Star' quilts, I told my mother I was going to make one. I get a lot of orders for quilts and I just love to make them..."

"I like to quilt, sew and knit. I also crochet. About ten years ago, my sister taught me how to make 'Star' quilts and do beadwork. I make the quilts for special events such as a new grandchild and 8th Grade and High School graduations of my sons and daughters. Mostly now, I just enjoy making them. Sometimes I make quilts to sell..."

A traveling exhibition organized by the Sioux Indian Museum and Crafts Center, administered by the Indian Arts and Crafts Board of the U.S. Department of the Interior in cooperation with Tipi Shop, Inc.
