T-shirt quilt at Race for the Cure event

Austin; Texas; United States

impcap

For the 2013 Race for the Cure held in Austin, Texas, Martta Howard made a quilt of past race t-shirts. Finished the night before the race, it measured 117” x 97”, and was hung in the Survivor’s tent at the event. During the day, survivors and friends, adorned themselves with Photobooth props, enjoyed having their pictures taken in front of the quilt. The quilt further benefitted breast cancer research and education when it was auctioned off at the Komen Austin annual Perfectly Pink Party later that year.
